Join our new tutor Jessica for Tuesday nights on the wheel at Globe 2

WHAT: Learn the exciting art of throwing on the potter's wheel. You will develop the skills to throw your own pots in just a few weeks; learning how to centre the clay, open out the shape, pull up the walls and control the form. You will also learn how to apply glazes before your creations are fired in the kiln. Over the 6 weeks you will learn how to shape your piece, trim and neaten and decorate with glazes.

Jessica Burnand will be your tutor for this 6 week course, which is perfect for absolute beginners. Its a small intimate group with a maximum of 6 places per term, to ensure you get the proper guidance and tuition needed.

WHO: Since graduating with a degree in Fine Art, Jessica has been practicing ceramics for over four years. She specialises in creating illustrative underglaze designs, taking inspiration from the local nature and moorlands which she is grateful to live amongst. She can’t wait to share her passion for all things clay with you all.

WHERE: Globe 2, Holme Mills, West Slaithwaite, HD7 6LS

WHEN: Tuesdays 25th Feb - 1st April, 6 weeks, 6-8pm.

HOW MUCH: £160 for 6 weeks (6x 2 hour sessions) - includes tuition, materials and refreshments

(Please note - the course price includes up to 3 pieces per term, you can pay extra if you want to fire and glaze more pieces, which can be paid for at the end of term to the technician on shift)
