This Spring, Sammy Palfrey is taking over Zapato Taproom with ‘My Recent Work’.

The images on show are chosen from different interests and subjects over the last 20 years. My large paintings, not on show, are brightly coloured and joyful but my more recent work is sinister, negative, indeterminate; reflections of how i feel about the state of the world.  Sayings like 'Things fall Apart' and the science of Entropy are determinate but apply too.  Sometimes in my work there might be a glimpse of something; a portal to somewhere else. My smaller works are if you like, a suggestion, and later may be developed, integrated into other similar ideas, something else. They fit and rest between sketchbook and the completion of larger sized imagery; my final statements or visions.
